JEWEX 2009 Wedding Ring, Gold,
Silver Jewelry, Jewelry and
Watch Fair, of which the first
was held by the Gençiz Fair
Organization Company, was held
between 29th January -1st
February at the İzmir
International Fair Ground Hall
Number 2.
Purpose and Targets of the Fair:
Our purpose is to enable the
participants reach the domestic
or international buyers, in the
branches of the jewelry sector
(wedding ring, bracelets, carat,
24 carat, diamond, brilliants,
valuable stones etc.)
additionally, what ever their
scales and capacities are
(producer, whole seller, atelier
operator, importer, exporter.
Etc.) by the attendance of all
companies which are the side
industry and serve the sector,
make them again reach the
domestic and international
markets. It is our principle
target that it is not compared
among the other Jewelry fairs
held at our country. It is again
our priority target that this
fair is not stuck on local or
regional basis. To this extend,
following the fair held in
Istanbul which occupies an
important space in Turkey and in
the world, this fair will
tremendously contribute to the
sector, especially the close
neighboring countries being
ahead, it is again our target
that from the target countries
with whom there are corporations
and strong commercial ties,
professional visitors will be
led to this fair. A special care
is paid that The geography of
Izmir, it social and economical
status as well as its
exclusivities are used as an
advantage on behalf of the
participants and visitors and
take the upper most benefit from
this. It is determined that the
fundamental purpose of the fair
is that; what ever the capacity
or the scale may be,
facilitating all the firms of
the sector to meet with the new
markets and new customers, and
making it possible that
commercial meetings, which will
provide them strengthen their
place in the existing markets,
are held; and a fair through
which sector innovations are
followed up and the problems of
the sector are discussed, and
that it is the second most
serious meeting platform of
Turkey regarding its subject.

fair. The Fair was held at
International Izmir Fair Ground,
at Hall 2, on an area of 6000
m2, of which 2439 m2 was
allocated to the attendants.
Those who are active in Adana,
Adapazarı, Antalya, Aydın,
Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir,
İzmit, Kahramanmaraş, Muğla,
Şanlıurfa Cities in Jewelry and
in Jewelry sector, supplying
machinery, materials,
decoration, logistics and
service supplier companies have
attended the fair.

In 4 days during which the fair
was open, totally 4 thousand and
787 professional visitors have
visited the fair of which 77 are
from abroad. Professional
visitors from abroad, from USA,

Japan, Khzakhstan, Lebanon,
Libya, Portugal, Romania,
Russia, Syria, Ukraine, Greece
and Greek Islands, visited the
fair. Generally from Turkey from

Fair Promotional Works:
On National News papers, TV,
Raidos and Sector magazines, on
all magazines which are
published specifically for the
sector and abroad, and as Middle
East and Arabian Countries being
ahead, in the sector magazines
that are published in North
African Countries,
advertisement/promotional works
have been done. While those who
visit our internet site obtain
information about a our fair,
they can also reach the online
invitation and obtain the
invitation without any
payments. Regarding the works
to be done at the area a
separate team was established;
the points indicated below ere
visited, and fair,
participants and the product
groups to be exhibited were
introduced to the responsible
persons on one on one and
invitations were distributed. (
All across the country all of
the jewelry retailers and those
related with the sector, The
Jewelry Chambers in Turkey,
Associations, Occupational
Unions, Embassies, Consulates,
Commercial Attaches). Following
the contacts abroad,
professional visitors
organization was made, visitors
from Syria, Azerbaijan, Dubai,
Georgia, Libya, Lebanon and
Greece were brought in the fair.
Announcement over the internet
(Mail submission) was done, to
the related mail address in our
Information bank, information
regarding the promotion of the
fair, were sent, this work was
continued on until the opening
day of the fair. Additionally,
free online invitations were
sent to these mail addresses.
Announcement through the Izmir
Chambers of Commerce and
Chambers of Jewelry Makers, al
the information about the fair
was sent to The Chambers of
Commerce and Chambers of Jewelry
de The chambers published the
news on their intrnet sites, and
have dome mailing and faxing
works, submitted the invitations
and the posters, and thus
supported the promotional
works. Advertisement works were
done by Izmir Chambers of
Commerce at Greek islands and
continental Greece by means of
news papers….
Conclusion:
Jewex 2009 Wedding Ring, Gold,
Silver Jewelry, Jewelry and
Watch Fair, of which the first
was realized in İZMİr, has been
an mediator between the needs
of the commercial buyers and the
products presented by the
producers and the suppliers.
Hundreds of categories, new
jewelry collections, valuable
stones, pearls, silver, jewelry
machinery and tools, exhibition
and store equipments and all
other hardware were exhibited in
this fair. During the fair and
after the fair, in the views
submitted o our side, it is
stated that our participants
have been successful and it is
sincerely expressed they would
again take a part in this
organization which served the
goal it had.

per the survey held during the
fair;
Even though JEWEX 2009 was held
for the first time, as the
organization is well done and
the potential buyers have been
brought in from abroad, it
represented more than what was
expected by the participating
